It Only Takes One Person

It only takes one person to change the trajectory of the lives of everyone around them. Just like a domino effect, that one person is the beginning of an unimaginable impact and reach.

It only took one person to reach out to me and ask if I was investing in the stock market. That one person changed my life. That one person gave me the education, resources, and confidence to invest my money in the capital markets. That one person who was my colleague, as well as a person of color, invited me into this investment world. A world that prior to meeting him I thought was only for people that didn’t look like me: White males. To see a person of color who understood the markets and reassured me that through education it would be possible to build generational wealth was mind-blowing.

That one person changed my life. During lunch break learning sessions that one person taught me the basics of the stock market, and gave me the motivation and confidence to open an account and begin investing. Once I learned the trends of the stock market I was hooked. The idea that my money was “working for me” was mind-blowing. As a first-gen Latina whose family survived by cleaning houses, the idea that I would not be working for every penny was unfathomable. I was taught to work hard, even at multiple jobs if I have to, in order to get ahead in life. Then, you save and go to college. You then get a career and save some more in order to buy a nice little house and live the American dream. Even though what I was taught was well-intentioned, I soon learned you don’t save your way into generational wealth.

My fascination with this new world inspired me to take courses, get a certification, and completely change careers. Once I discovered how powerful it is to manage your money and ultimately build wealth, I had to share the information with others and continue the domino effect. There was no way I would be the first and only domino to fall.

So, here I am now. I want to be that one person. That one person that will teach you how to manage your money and build generational wealth so you can continue the domino effect and positively impact your community. I challenge you to be that ONE PERSON that will continue the domino effect.
